  The 2021 AGM took place virtually on Friday, October 22nd. Sail Canada congratulates Hugh McGugan on his acclamation as Chair for a second term, Zac Baum on his reelection to the Board for a 3-year-term, and Kelly Lyon on her election to the Board for a 3-year term. Read: Inclusion, Diversity and Equity to highlight Sail Canada Virtual Annual General Meeting Friday

The 2021 Sail Canada Annual General Meeting will take place virtually on October 22nd, 2021 at 5pm EDT. Sail Canada Board of Directors, Staff, Provincial Sailing Associations, Committees, Coaches and Partner Representatives will meet in advance of the AGM to establish projects and working plans for 2022 and beyond, based on the confirmed organizational priorities, as outlined in the Strategic Plan. The theme for Sail Canada’s 2021 AGM and Leader Summit is Inclusivity, Diversity & Equity (IDE). As such Sail Canada has partnered with Inclusion INC to offer IDE training to Sail Canada Board of Directors, Staff, Provincial Sailing Associations, Committee representatives in advance of the AGM. Inclusion INC will facilitate an IDE panel discussion during the AGM on Friday evening. “Exploring the Intersection of Safe Sport with Diversity and Inclusion” This session will be moderated by Andrea Carey of INclusion INcorporated and will navigate how safe sport intersects with diversity and inclusion through a powerful panel discussion to surface what leaders in Sailing need to be considering as they work forward to create more safe, welcoming, and inclusive sailing experiences across the country. This session will explore some of the lived experiences of the panelists, while also looking forward to how we embrace these challenging situations to learn and grow together. To be entitled to vote, on the business of the AGM, on behalf of a member organization, please submit a completed proxy form to sailcanada@sailing.ca All registered attendees, who hold proxies entitling them to vote on behalf of a Sail Canada member organization, will be emailed directly to be provided access to their unique voting url. Voting access will be sent directly to all eligible attendees, by email, by October 20, 2021.
