
Sail Canada Championships Information
Sail Canada Championships bring training & racing opportunities for sailors, coaches & officials to your club. Sail Canada & local host organizing committees collaborate to deliver the annual championships that award regional and national titles.
Overview
Sail Canada’s Regional Championships provide an opportunity for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in
their region. The purpose of the Regional Championships is to:
- Provide opportunities for development of competitive youth sailors, through valuable training & racing
experiences - Award Open Champions in the Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, 420, 29er, Optimist & 2.4M classes
- Award U17 Regional Champions in the Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, 420 & 29er classes
- Award U15 Regional Champion in the Optimist class
- Provide development and mentoring opportunities to coaches
- Deliver training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers
- Build legacy in the host region for future event hosting through development of officials, volunteers, venues &
local resources - Serve as a talent identification opportunity for regional and provincial sailing teams
Application to Host:
If your club is interested in hosting one of the Sail Canada Championships please review the hosting requirements and complete the host application form. Once applications have been reviewed, host organizations will be contacted for more information. Applicants will be required to provide endorsements from their Provincial Sailing Association and Club Board of Directors.

Proposals to host Sail West, Sail East & Sail Central are provided to Sail Canada by member organizations in good standing from the province of the region of Canada that the rotation tables below suggest.
