Sail Canada is a Registered Amateur Athletic Association with charitable status, designated by the Government of Canada as a National Sport Organization representing the sport of Sailing. The Association represents all participants including recreational sailors and high-performance athletes at the club, provincial, national, and international levels. Sail Canada is a non-profit corporation founded in 1931. The Association is governed by its constitution and by-laws, as well as many policies ratified by the Board of Directors.
The Sail Canada Board of Directors provides the governance and strategic direction for the Association. The members of the Board bring an array of skills, expertise, and sailing experience to fulfill their responsibilities. In October of 2021, at the Annual General Meeting, the Sail Canada Membership elected the Board of Directors:
