Canada Ocean Racing is currently still in sixth place overall out of seven teams after the first four legs of The Europe Race. Canada Ocean Racing finished fifth in the fourth leg of The Europe Race, between Nice (FRA) and Geneva (ITA). The boats will take part in the last leg of the race, leaving Geneva for Boka Bay, Montenegro, Sunday.

Les bateaux participeront à la dernière partie de la course, quittant Genève pour Boka Bay, au Monténégro, dimanche.

Two 29er Canadian teams qualified to be nominated to represent Canada at the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships

Deux équipes canadiennes en 29er qualifiées pour être nommées afin de représenter le Canada aux Championnats du monde de la jeunesse en voile 2025

Congratulations to Freida Smith and Laura Eisenhauer as well as to Averi Kuo and Theo Stolth qualified to be nominated to represent Canada at the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships to be held December 12-20 in Vilamoura, Portugal. As stated in Sail Canada`s Athlete Selection System and Requirements for the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships, Freida Smith and Laura Eisenhauer (RNSYS/LYC) got the women spot by being the top overall 29er team at Sail Canada 2025 29er Youth Championship held August 21-24 in Kingston, while Averi Kuo and Theo Stolth (RVicYC) was the best Canadian men/mixed team with a 7th position overall.

Félicitations à Freida Smith et Laura Eisenhauer, ainsi qu`à Averi Kuo et Theo Stolth, qui se sont qualifiés pour représenter le Canada aux Championnats du monde de la jeunesse en voile 2025, qui auront lieu du 12 au 20 décembre à Vilamoura, au Portugal. Tel qu`indiqué dans le système de sélection des athlètes et les exigences de Voile Canada pour les Championnats du monde de la jeunesse en voile 2025, Freida Smith et Laura Eisenhauer (RNSYS/LYC) ont obtenu la place féminine en terminant en tête du classement général en 29er lors du Championnat de la jeunesse en 29er de Voile Canada 2025, qui s`est déroulé du 21 au 24 août à Kingston, alors qu`Averi Kuo et Theo Stolth (RVicYC) ont été la meilleure équipe masculine/mixte canadienne avec une 7e place au classement général.

Three Canadian boats took part in the 2025 Fireball World Championship held August 22-29 in Circolo Vela Arco in Italy. Christopher Lemke and Jeff Kaytook took the 92nd position, Richard Quinlan and Liam Quinlam, 102nd, and Kelly Gallins and Eric Diller, 105th, out of 136 teams.

Trois bateaux canadiens ont participé au Championnat du monde en Fireball 2025 qui s`est déroulé du 22 au 29 août au Circolo Vela Arco en Italie. Christopher Lemke et Jeff Kay ont terminé en 92e position, Richard Quinlan et Liam Quinlam, 102e, et Kelly Gallins et Eric Diller en 105e position sur 136 équipes.

Emilie Leung and her father Simon Leung (PCYC/GCBC) took the 28th position out of 34 sailors at the Snipe North American Championship held August 21-24 at the San Diego Yacht Club. They were the only Canadian representative to take part in this event before they will competed in the 2025 Snipe Western Hemisphere and Asia Championship to be held September 1-6 at the same location.

A total of 32 sailors, including 25 Canadians, took part in the 2025 Mobility Cup in Martin 16 boats held August 25-29 at the Pointe-Claire Yacht Club. Congratulations to Brian Peckover from Carleton Place, ON, who won the gold medal, to Tracy Schmitt from Toronto, silver medalist, and to Andrew Davis from Vancouver, bronze medalist. The 2026 edition will be held September 9-12 in Vancouver.

Un total de 32 athlètes, incluant 25 Canadiens, ont participé à la Coupe mobilité 2025 dans des bateaux Martin 16 du 25 au 29 août au Pointe-Claire Yacht Club. Canadian Sailing Team member Lilly Rainham, on the women`s side, and Jacob Townsend, on the men`s side, were the best Canadians at the 2025 ILCA U21 World Championships held August 24-29 in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, with respectively 21st and 29th positions. Townsend`s 29th place finish was the best Canadian performance on the men`s side at this event since the 20th position by Liam Bruce in 2019 in Croatia. A total of 72 sailors were in action in the men`s competition, and 139 in the women`s part. A total of nine Canadians were in action. Details >

La membre de l`équipe canadienne de voile Lilly Rainham, chez les femmes, et Jacob Townsend, chez les hommes, ont été les meilleurs Canadiens aux Championnats du monde ILCA U21 2025 qui se sont déroulés du 24 au 29 août à Dun Laoghaire, en Irlande, avec respectivement une 21e et une 29e place. La 29e place de Townsend est la meilleure performance masculine canadienne à cette compétition depuis la 20e place obtenue par Liam Bruce en 2019 en Croatie. Au total, 72 navigateurs ont pris part à la compétition masculine et 139 à la compétition féminine. Neuf Canadiens ont participé à la compétition.

Even if sailing competition was outside of the core activities at the 2025 Canada Summer Games, sailing participants felt the presence of Gusty, the official mascot of the event, which name alludes to the unique windy weather in the province.
