Two Canadians took part in the 2025 Spring Invitational & Jack Peters Series held April 25-27 in Oxford, Maryland. Congratulations to Siobhan MacDonald (National Yacht Club) who took the third position on 11 sailors in the 2.4mR Class, as well as to Alain Dubuc who took the 6th place.

Deux Canadiens ont participé au Spring Invitational & Jack Peters Series 2025, une compétition présentée du 25 au 27 avril à Oxford, au Maryland. Félicitations à Siobhan MacDonald (National Yacht Club) qui a pris la troisième place sur 11 athlètes en classe 2.4mR, ainsi qu`à Alain Dubuc qui a pris la 6ème position.

Peter Wickwire et son équipage 3e à la Ficker Cup 2025, et se préparent pour la Congressional Cup

Peter Wickwire and his crew, including Dan MacMillan, Savannah Taylor, Steve Flam, Travis Odenbach and Harry West, took the 3rd position at the 2025 Ficker Cup held April 25-27 at the Long Beach Yacht Club, USA. After being in second position after the double round robin, the Canadian boat lost 3-1 in semi final against the winner of the event, the French team of Maxime Mesnil, before winning the "Petit Final". A total of eight boats took part in this regatta.
Next stop for the Canadian "Storm Match Racing" team will be the Congressional Cup, a premier event on the prestigious World Match Racing Tour that Storm Match Racing Team needed to qualify FOR and to be held April 30-May 4 in Long Beach. Canada will have a first entry in this competition since the 1980s.

Peter Wickwire et son équipage 3e à la Ficker Cup 2025, et se préparent pour la Congressional Cup
Peter Wickwire et son équipe, composée de Dan MacMillan, Savannah Taylor, Steve Flam, Travis Odenbach et Harry West, ont pris la troisième place à la Ficker Cup 2025 qui s`est déroulée du 25 au 27 avril au Long Beach Yacht Club, aux Etats-Unis. Après avoir occupé la deuxième place à l`issue du double round robin, le bateau canadien s`est incliné 3-1 en demi-finale contre le vainqueur de l`épreuve, l`équipe française de Maxime Mesnil, avant de remporter la « Petite finale ». Au total, huit bateaux ont participé à cette régate.
La prochaine étape pour l`équipe canadienne sera la Congressional Cup, un événement de premier plan du prestigieux World Match Racing Tour dont l`équipe Storm Match Racing avait besoin de se qualifier et qui se tiendra du 30 avril au 4 mai à Long Beach. Le Canada aura un représentant à cette compétition pour la première fois depuis les années 1980.

Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance from Chester, N.S., won the bronze medal in 49erFX at the second event of the 2025 Sailing Grand Slam Series, French Olympic Week, which was held April 21-26 in Hyères, FRA. A third Canadian also stood out in France as Clara Gravely from Toronto, ON, took 8th place in ILCA 6, her best-ever performance at an international event.
