Athlete Bio

Georgia Lewin-LaFrance is a Canadian sailor from Chester, Nova Scotia, competing in the 49erFX class alongside her sister, Antonia. She grew up sailing and racing in Nova Scotia and developed her passion for high-performance sport through the Chester Yacht Club and the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. Georgia holds a degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University.

Together, Georgia and Antonia represented Canada at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The pair are World Championship bronze medallists, European champions, and have earned multiple World Cup medals. They are currently training toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with their sights set on the podium.

Beyond the Olympic campaign, Georgia has gained experience across multiple high-performance environments, including competing in the Youth America’s Cup and sailing as a strategist with the Canadian SailGP Team.

Georgia and her team are proud to be supported by the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, a club that has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing Olympic sailing in Canada. Through its commitment to athlete development and hosting world-class events, RVYC plays a critical role in strengthening the high-performance pathway. Georgia is proud to represent RVYC alongside the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron and the Chester Yacht Club.
