2019 Finn Gold Cup

The 2019 Finn Gold Cup, sailed from the Royal Brighton Yacht Club, in Melbourne, Australia has wrapped up just in time for everyone to head home for the holidays.

Each day in Melbourne has thrown different conditions and different challenges at the fleet of 60 Finns from 23 countries. There have been long days with no wind and record-breaking 40C days with 15 knots. The event is being used as an Olympic Team selection event for multiple countries, including Canada. Tom Ramshaw (CST) and Kyle Martin (CSDS), supported by High Performance Coach Ken Dool, were battling on the waters of Port Philip.

With some strong and consistent results across the 5 days of fleet racing, Kyle finished up the week of racing in 33rd place. Tom battled it out in the top 10 all week, finishing up the fleet races in 7th place. After competing in the medal race on Saturday, Tom finished up in 8th place overall.
