Youth Worlds underway in Malaysia!
Tuesday, December 29, 2015 - Langkawi, Malaysia
Day one of the 45th Youth Sailing World Championships was full on with big breeze and plenty of waves greeting the sailors for the first races.
Sailors were spread in different areas: 420s were very close to shore so their races involved a lot more shifts and puffs, but flatter water compared to the lasers, 29ers and RSX, who sailed further away and enjoyed more wind and waves.
Canada is represented in 7 classes with a total of 11 sailors. The canucks had a good start in the 420, with Pat Wilson & Arie Moffat sitting in 9th overall and Georgia Lewin-Lafrance & Terra Lanteigne in 13th.
Racing continues through until January 4th with plenty of racing for all sailors in each class. Follow with live blogging, results and social media.
