The 2018 Sailing World Championships Aarhus quicks off!

The 2018 Sailing World Championships Aarhus quicks off today with the opening ceremonies in Aarhus, Denmark. Held every four years, the Sailing World Championships is one of the biggest global sailing event in the world. Over 1400 sailors from 90 nations will be competing from August 2nd to the 12th on the waves of Aarhus Bay.
Sailors are competing for more than a medal at this event, as the Sailing World Championships are the first and largest qualification regatta for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. With 40% of the places being decided at this event, sailors will need to push hard to make their way up the scoreboard.
