Monday, January 29, 2018 - Miami, FL
Sailors are heading home as the 2018 World Cup Series - Miami wrapped up yesterday in Coconut Grove after 6 days of challenging racing.
The sailors were met with a variety of conditions throughout the event, with very low winds on Day 1 causing the Radial and Finn fleets to stay on land with no racing. Day 2 again offered lights winds where staying in phase and sailing into the pressure was key.
Winds of 20 + knots blew through Biscayne Bay for the finals four days of event, providing a whole new set of challenges for the sailors.
The competition was tough with over 540 sailors from 50 nations racing including many Rio Olympic Medalists and World Champions.
Here are the top Canadian Sailing Team finishes for the event:
In the Finn fleet ,Tom Ramshaw finished 13th and Kyle Martin finished in 21st.
In the Laser fleet, Robert Davis finished 21st.
In the Laser Radial fleet, Isabella Bertold finished 24th and Sarah Douglas finished 37th.
