The competition will be held July 18-19
Kingston, July 15, 2026 – Over 100 sailors will be in action this weekend, July 18-19, at the St. Margaret Sailing Club in Glen Haven, N.S., as they will take part in Sail Canada 2026 Sail East Championships.
The competition will be held during the “The Bay Wind Regatta”. Competitors will be in action in the 29er, Club 420, ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and Optimist classes.
Training clinic to start the weekend
Sail Canada Sail East Championships will start with a training clinic on Friday, July 17, from 9:30am to 4pm. This day will feature Canadian Olympians Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance who are coming back from Germany after winning the gold medal at Kiel Week and at the 2026 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships. They now have sixth podium in their last seven major events.

Races for Sail East are scheduled to start both days at 11am.
Sail Canada Sail East event is part of a series of seven Sail Canada National and Regional Championships to be held this summer. These competitions provide a chance for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in their region, in addition to serving as talent identification opportunities for regional and provincial sailing teams, as development and mentoring opportunities for coaches, as well as training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers.
