Sarah Douglas and Robert Davis top Canadians at the Lauderdale OCR
Monday January 14th 2019 - Kingston, ON
Sailors battled it out over 10 races at the Lauderdale OCR event, which also served as the Canadian Pan Am qualifier in the Laser and Laser Radial classes.
The four days of racing brought in a variety of conditions, from breezy and wavy to light and shifty. Our Canadian Sailing Team athletes stayed at the top of the scoreboard. In the Laser fleet, day 4 brought high-pressure racing as Fillah Karim and Robert Davis started the day only one point apart, sitting in 3rd and 4th respectively.
Robert stayed focus throughout the day, finishing 4th and 8th pushing him ahead of Fillah and securing his spot as top Canadian, qualifying him a position at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru.
Fellow Canadian Sailing Team athletes, Sarah Douglas stayed consistent throughout the event with many top 3 results. Finishing 2nd overall and top Canadian securing herself a spot at the 2019 Pan Am Games. “Super excited to qualify for the Pan Am Games, looking forward to representing Canada in Peru this summer!”
