Kingston, June 25, 2026 – Sail Canada will host its next Celebration of Sailing on Friday, August 14th, starting at 5pm at the Kingston Yacht Club. This iteration of the Celebration of Sailing will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Montreal 1976 Games, including the sailing competition in Kingston.
Limited tickets for this event, called “Celebration of Sailing: Kingston 1976 Games Legacy”, are now available for $85 at https://members.sailcanada.org/2026celebrationofsailing. Ticket includes barbecue dinner and a drink.
This casual event will be held as part of several other activities in conjunction with the 50th anniversary, as well as part of Sail Canada Youth Fest. Amongst them, a Torch Parade, an Olympians Regatta, as well as a Community Exhibition. More details will follow.
This event offers a unique opportunity for the Canadian sailing community to unite in celebrating a landmark moment in the sport’s history—one that holds significance for both Kingston and Canada. Canadian sailing Olympians and medalists from the 1976 Montreal Games, together with the leaders and organizers who played a pivotal role in bringing and managing Olympic sailing competition in Kingston, will gather to mark this special anniversary.
