Sail Canada's first National Offshore Personal Survival Instructor Course

Sail Canada’s first national Offshore Personal Survival Instructor Course ran in Metro Vancouver from February 28 to March 3, 2016. Fourteen current and new instructors from BC, Ontario, Quebec, PEI and Nova Scotia participated. The intensive, five-day schedule included classroom, practical, in-the-water and on-the-water sessions. Resources and support were provided by Sail Canada, BC Sailing, the West Vancouver Yacht Club, the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Canadian Coast Guard, Environment Canada, Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Unit 2, Maritime Services, Mustang Survival, North Sails, Pro-Tech Yacht Services, Survitec Group, the UBC Aquatic Centre, and SeaRegs Training.
