Sail Canada Respect in Sport - Activity Leader Training Program

Sail Canada is pleased to be working with the Respect Group to provide the Respect in Sport – Activity Leader training program to all Sail Canada instructors/ coaches, officials and anyone who actively works in the youth sailing environment.
What is it?
A 2.5 hour online training program, designed to educate coaches/leaders on the important issues associated to bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination. The program deals with numerous issues which are relevant to anyone in a coaching &/or leadership role in our sport.
RESPECT IN SPORT FOR ACTIVITY LEADERS AND COACHES offers an engaging and easy to use internet-based training course for sport leaders of all levels. The intent of this training is to:
- Empower and educate youth leaders/coaches on the prevention of abuse, bullying and harassment.
- Build a holistic culture of respect within the sport community.
- Provide fundamental training tools which enable ALL coaches and youth leaders to become even better role models for the young athletes in their care
The Coaching Association of Canada is using the Respect in Sport online training in conjunction with the Responsible Coaching Movement to increase coach education and keep sport safe for everyone involved.
