At the beginning of 2026 the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) changed its name to Sport Integrity Canada. With this change the Sail Canada Code of Conduct and safe sport program resources on the website have both been updated to reflect the change to the name and organization overseeing safe sport program in Canada. This is an important administrative update for the Canadian sailing community! The transition from the CCES to Sport Integrity Canada marks a significant shift in how safe sport is managed nationwide, streamlining the oversight of the safe sport program in Canada.
Here is a quick summary of what this change means for athletes, coaches, and officials involved with Sail Canada:
Key Changes to Note
- Terminology: All references to the “CCES” in official documentation should now be recognized as Sport Integrity Canada.
- Updated Sail Canada Code of Conduct: The Sail Canada Code of Conduct reflects the new organizational structure.
- Reporting & Resources: If you are looking for safe sport program resources or reporting mechanisms, the updated links on the Sail Canada website can be found here: https://www.sailing.ca/safe-sport/
- If you have physical posters, handbooks, or older PDF downloads at your local club, it’s a good time to swap those out for the 2026 versions to ensure everyone has the correct contact information for safe sport inquiries.
