Medal Race Wrap Up - Delta Lloyd Regatta
Saturday, May 24, 2014
Better conditions greeted sailors for the medal race day today in Medemblik as yesterday’s racing was a wash out. The Laser Radial medal race was scheduled 4th up today after RSX and Laser classes at 12:50 local time. Isabella Bertold was positioned well in 4th overall with the opportunity to earn double points and a shot at the podium. Despite her best intentions, Isabella placed 6th in the medal race, not enough to move her on to the podium this time around. Bertold takes 5th place overall saying, “Not going to sugar coat it, I want that medal race back. However I couldn't ask for a better time to learn the lesson I learnt today. Besides, a little bit of extra fuel for the fire is never a bad a thing!”
Brenda Bowskill wrapped up her event yesterday in 14th overall despite hopes of competing in another medal race since the recent Garda Olympic Week event.
Congratulations to Isabella and Brenda on their performances at Delta Lloyd Regatta!
