Last day of racing at the Sail Canada Youth Championships

 

Friday August 31st, 2018 - Toronto, ON (RCYC)

The 2018 Sail Canada Youth Championships wrapped up today at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. After a few days of low breeze, and little races, the Race Committee was able to run four races in all fleets. The winds stayed consistent throughout the whole day, ranging from 8-15 knots. With the sun peaking in, the event finished off with ideal sailing conditions. Sailors in the Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, and I420 completed a total of 8 races throughout the week, while C420 completed 10, and 29ers completed 12.

The event had a great turnout, from the opening ceremonies full of dancing, to the closing awards, the event was no short of wonderful. A big thank you goes out to RCYC and Felicity Rodness for hosting and organizing the event, to all of the volunteers who made this event possible, to the race committee, parents, sailors, and staff. We appreciate the time and effort you have put into making this event amazing!
