It was a breezy Day One at the Youth World Championships

Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 - Corpus Chrisit, TX

Corpus Christi, a city known for it’s sea breeze did not disappoint for the first day of racing on Monday, July 16th. Sailors competed in a 15-17 knot southeasterly, allowing for all the scheduled races to be completed for all fleets.

The Canadian Team has sailors competing in the i420 Girls and Boys fleets, the Laser Radial Girl and Boys fleets and the 29er Girls and Boys fleets.

This is the second Youth World Championships for Will Bonin, and first for crew Alec Baird who are currently sitting in 11th.

Youth Worlds veteran Maddie Gillis and skipper Tate Howell are also sitting in 11th after day one of racing.

Racing continues today with the i420 and Laser Radial fleets scheduled for two races and the 29er fleets scheduled for three.
