Glen Pollard - Gimli Yacht Club

October 2017 - Glen Pollard of Gimli Yacht Club in Manitoba

Currently the Director of Gimli Yacht Club, Glen Pollard rocked the Sailing Event at the Canada Summer Games this past summer!

Pollard was the lead chair for the Sailing Venue Team of the 2017 Canada Summer Games. The Venue Team drew upon volunteers from the wider community outside the tradition sailing participants. This required Glen's leadership in the areas of food, security, IT, logistics, site readiness and venue set-up, spectator services and media.

Glen transformed a team of non-sailors into a highly effective operational group that supported the sailing competition of the Canada Summer Games. In addition he ensured that the facilities were readied for sailors with disabilities by ensuring that compliant washrooms were built and ramps for club house and docks were constructed. Pollard’s work brings lasting legacy to the Gimli Yacht Club – to be experienced by members and community for years to come!

Thank you, Glen!
