Day Two of Youth Worlds

Day Two of Youth Worlds

Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 - Corpus Christi, TX

The day started out with a lighter breeze but Corpus Christi Bay was not giving sailors a break for Day 2 of racing with the wind picking up to 12 - 14 knots for the fleets racing the early shift and reaching 15 - 17 knots by the end of of the race day.

The shallow bay continues to provide the sailors with challenging chop on all race courses.

The i420 Girls, Tate Howell and Maddie Gillis (RCYC & RNSYS) had a strong first race fishing in a respectable third place in the 22 boat fleet, they are currently sitting in 8th place overall.

With 56 boats racing the in the Radial Boys fleet and 46 boats racing in the Radial Girls fleet the points are tight in the highly competitive fleets. Tayte Stefaniuk (Radial Boy - RNSYS) currently sits in 28th place overall and Hunter Dejean (Radial Girl - ABYC) currently sits in 24th overall.

Racing continues today with the i420 and Laser Radial fleets scheduled for two races and the 29er fleets scheduled for three.
