Day 4 of Senior Nationals at CORK OCR

After not sailing on Sunday due to heavy winds, sailors returned to the water today at the Sail Canada Senior Championships at CORK OCR. Today’s conditions were ideal, with a breeze of 18-19 knots from the southwest, and sunny skies.
In skiff action, both the 49er and 49erFX fleets wrapped up their regattas today. The 49ers squeezed five races in, while the 49erFX fleet got four races off. In the 49er class, David Mori and Justin Barnes (CAN-RCYC) of the Canadian Sailing Team earned the gold medal. David Liebenberg and Dane Wilson (USA-RYC) took silver, while John and Arthur Ferguson (CAN-RNSYS), also of the CST, took bronze. Arielle Morgan and Heather Myatt (CAN-RSTLYC) took the top spot in the 49erFX class. Second overall was Ryan and Andrew Wood (CAN-RVYC), while Kate Shaner and Caroline Atwood (USA) claimed the bronze-medal position.
After another two races today in the Laser and Radial, Robert Davis (CAN-RCYC) of the Canadian Sailing Team holds first place in the Laser class. Justin Norton (CAN-BYC), and Marshall McCann (USA-TCYC) sit in second and third, respectively. In the Radial class, Andrea Aldana (GUA) leads the way, with Sarah Douglas (CAN-RCYC) of the CST in the silver-medal position, and Haddon Hughes (USA-TCYC) in third.
The Finn class also completed three more races today. Kyle Martin (CAN–RVYC) sits in the top spot, with Rockal Evans (BER) and Darrell Peck (USA) rounding out the top three. Chris Leigh is currently in first place in the three-boat I14 class.
