Day 3 of Youth Words in Sanya!
Wednesday, December 13 2017 - Sanya, China
Sailors in Sanya were met with another difficult day of sailing for Day 3 of Youth Worlds.
“With Sanya Bay offering sailors 15 to 30 degree shifts and 60% pressure difference around the course, multiple times per leg, our Canadian team has recognized that every leg is an opportunity for a big win or big loss and are hitting the water ready to give 100% in this tricky venue” said Team Leader Agustin Ferrario.
Tricky conditions are part of the game and that is not holding our 420 girls Georgia Lewin-LaFrance and Madeline Gillis back. The team kept their momentum from Day 2 scoring a 4th in Race 5. They are currently sitting in 8th overall.
In the 29er fleet, brothers Sam and Will Bonin are sitting in 18th after scoring a 20, 26 and 10 in today’s racing.
In the Nacra 15, sister Helen and Teddy Horangic are sitting in 11th.
In the Radial fleet, Clara Gravely is in 23rd and Ryan Anderson is sitting in 24th.
In the 420 Boys fleet, Pat Wilson and Arie Moffat are currently in 13th with only 5 points to 7th place.
With close points and two more days of racing, there is still lots of room for movement around the scoreboard.
