CST John McRoberts & Scott Lutes take home a silver medal at the 2019 Para World Sailing Championships

The 2019 Para World Sailing Championships wrapped up yesterday in Puerto Sherry, El Puerto de Santa María, Cadiz, Spain. This event saw around 100 sailors from 28 nations competing in a 5-day event.
Welcoming past Paralympic sailors and Canadian Sailing Team athletes, John McRoberts & Scott Lutes. This dynamic duo started sailing in the RS Venture Connect last year and have been giving sailors a run for their money ever since. Staying at the top of the fleet throughout the week with multiple 1st place finishes, this team battled it out for a winner takes all final against Italy. After a good race, this Canadian team finished in 2nd place taking home a silver medal, yet again placing Canada on the map in this new fleet.
Paralympian, Jackie Gay finished top Canadian boat in the 2.4mR, placing 7th overall. Followed by CSDS member, Peter Eagar, with a 10th place finish.
