Covo, Pelling, Holmes, Searle
April 2017 - Offiicals David Covo, David Pelling, John Holmes & Mark Searle of Pointe Claire YC (QC), Britannia YC (ON), Port Credit YC (ON)
In addition to the duties performed on the water at clubs and regattas across the country, Sail Canada relies on the expertise and experience of sailing officials to lead the development and delivery of our Official Training Programs. While developing as officials themselves, travelling to regattas nationally & internationally and supporting their local clubs, committee members are also responsible for ensuring strong training programs are developed, maintained and delivered for the next generation of officials. Without these officials and dedicated committee members, we would not have the competitive side of sailing we do today.
Judges David Covo, John Holmes and David Pelling, and Race Officer Mark Searle are four of these Officials who have dedicated many years of service as volunteers to their respective Sail Canada Officials Sub-Committees. We’re pleased to recognize these officials as we celebrate National Volunteer Week April 23-28.
These Sail Canada members clubs are home to our devoted Officials - Port Credit Yacht Club (Searle), Britannia Yacht Club (Holmes) and Pointe Claire Yacht Club (Pelling & Covo). These clubs can be proud to know that their own are renowned experts with Sail Canada, Voile Quebec, and Ontario Sailing.
