Sail Canada is pleased to help share an exciting offshore sailing opportunity from Canada Ocean Racing and Canadian skipper Scott Shawyer.
This July, six selected Canadian sailors aged 18–25 will have the opportunity to take part in the Canada Ocean Racing Pathway Program in Collingwood, Ontario, including hands-on experience aboard the team’s foiling IMOCA 60 campaign yacht. For many sailors, this may be a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step aboard one of the world’s most advanced offshore racing platforms — and to do so in Canadian waters on the Great Lakes.
The program is designed to introduce emerging sailors to the world of offshore racing, provide insight into professional sailing pathways, and connect participants directly with Scott Shawyer and the Canada Ocean Racing team. As offshore and short-handed sailing continue to grow internationally, initiatives like this help expose Canadian sailors to new disciplines and future opportunities within the sport.
Applications close June 15, 2026. Travel, accommodations, and meals are included for selected participants.
To register, send an email with your age, location, and a short note about why you would like to participate to hello@canadaoceanracing.com.
