Sail Canada is seeking passionate and knowledgeable individuals to join its Para Sailing Sub-Committee. This committee will play a vital role in shaping the future of Para and inclusive sailing in Canada by advising on strategic initiatives, supporting inclusive programming, and strengthening connections across the sailing community.
National and International Alignment and Focus
With an increased focus on ensuring national alignment, we are especially seeking individuals affiliated with provincial sailing associations and Able Sail programs to help strengthen coordination across all levels of the sport.
In addition, as the international sailing community works toward the reinstatement of Para sailing for the LA 2028 Paralympic Games, we are looking for members who bring insight into the international Para sailing environment and can support Canada’s strategic positioning on the world stage.

- Provide recommendations regarding Para Sailing issues and opportunities across Canada.
- Review and advise on Sail Canada’s Para training and education content, including National Coach Certification Program (NCCP), CANSail, and other professional development modules.
- Recommend strategies to increase engagement and education surrounding Para sailing within the Canadian sailing community—targeting sailors, officials, instructors, coaches, and program leaders at all levels.
- Liaise with relevant Para sailing, Able Sail and other sailing organizations to ensure alignment between Sail Canada initiatives and grassroots programming, including the AbleSail Network (ASN).
