2018 Sail Canada Youth Championships at RCYC

Sail Canada is pleased to announce that the Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC) in Toronto, Ontario has been selected to host the 2018 Sail Canada Youth Championships. The championships will take place August 28th - September 1st 2018. Competitive youth sailors from across the country are invited to compete with the Toronto skyline as their backdrop at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.

The Sail Canada Youth Championships is an annual event bringing together the country’s top competitive youth sailors. The purpose of the championship is to provide development opportunities for youth sailors through training & racing experiences, award the Youth National Champions, and train and develop officials. It also serves as a great talent identification opportunity for national and provincial team coaches. The Sail Canada Youth Championships have most recently been at St. Margaret Sailing Club in Glen Haven, Nova Scotia.

The Royal Canada Yacht Club is a proven host for regattas and championships. The club has hosted high level events including the Sailing at the 2015 Pan Am Games in and more recently the Opti North Americans in 2017, as well as numerous national and continental class championships.

The event will include 4 days of racing for 5 fleets, including Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Club 420, and 29er.
