The 2017 RE/MAX Mobility Cup in Kelowna
This is an exciting year for the folks in the Okanagan, as the Disabled Sailing Association’s of BC- Okanagan Branch (DSA) is hosting this year’s Mobility Cup! Taking place at the Kelowna Yacht Club in September 11th- 15th, this is a first for members and sailors in the area!
The Disabled Sailing Association’s Okanagan Branch offers a range of programs to suit everyones needs! Whether that be sailing on a Martin 16 for the pleasure of being on the water, to acquiring skills on a Sonar to navigate on your own, or being a little more adventurous and channeling that competitive nature by learning to race on a Hobie Tandem trimaran, they have it covered. With trained instructors and experienced volunteers, the programs all work towards providing a fun and liberating experience to all.
Opened in 1993 by Hans and Miriam Van Leening, The DSA has enlarged the sailing community by providing sailing programs to the people within the area. Operating out of the Kelowna Yacht Club marina since 2009, the DSA has been running programs 5 days a week from May to September with the use of 5 sailboats and certified instructors.
With over 30 registrant from Northern America, the 2017 RE/MAX Mobility Cup will be the place to be in September, with a week filled with races, activities, and good times! Racing is scheduled to start Monday, September 11th continuing through until Friday, September 15th.
