Sail Canada is pleased to announce the following changes in administrative roles and responsibilities.
Sarah Case, currently Training and Competitions Manager, takes up the new position of Business Development Manager. In this role Sarah will focus on the current and potential business lines of the organisation, ensuring that Sail Canada’s partner relations, publications, branding and programs contribute to our sailing development strategy.
Sarah has been with Sail Canada since 2005. She has, with the support and guidance of Sail Canada committees and working groups, introduced the Long Term Sailor Development Model, established CANSail as the primary dinghy training program in Canada. Sarah has also led the development of a national system to track participant activities in championship events and learn-to-sail activities. Sarah is an active racing sailor.
Samara Crothers (Sam) is appointed Programs Manager. Sam will manage all aspects of sailor, instructor/coach and official development, working with Sail Canada’s partner organizations, committees, work groups and volunteers to strengthen Sail Canada programs. In addition, Sam will be responsible for the delivery of regional and national competitions.
Sam has worked for Sail Canada since 2010 as Training and Competitions administrator, supporting Sarah in the delivery of Sail Canada events and programs. She is a CANSail Learning Facilitator and gets afloat as often as she can.
While the changes will begin to take effect immediately as Sarah and Sam embrace their new roles. It is expected that the transition period will be completed within a month and the new positions fully effective from the AGM at the end of October.
