Sail Canada would like to proudly announce the election of Canadian Sailing Team coach Brian Todd to the position of Vice President to the International Disabled Sailing Federation.
Brian comes from an extremely experienced position as a member of the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sailing teams having coached on numerous accounts in the Windsurfing, Laser, Radial, 2.4mR, Sonar and Skud fleets. Brian has also served as an esteemed committee member for the National Windsurfing committee, was a reliable Judge and Race officer, worked with and helped to develop CYA learn to sail programs and has been an active member at Clubs across Canada’s east coast.
Brian’s long serving position with Sail Canada comes to a close this year when he steps down from his position as a Canadian Sailing Team Coach December 31st. “I am retiring from coaching this year and will have the time and energy to give to IFDS to assist and ensure their equal representation in the sailing world. I look forward to working with the team at IFDS to provide an excellent platform for disabled sailors to learn, compete and enjoy sailing. We have a diverse group on the board, with a wealth of experience and skills. I am excited to be a part of this team.” For further detail into Brian’s new role, information is provided on the IFDS website here.
