RCYC INSTRUCTOR POSITION

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club’s Junior Club has celebrated over 85 years of success in sailing instruction, creating memories, and lasting friendships. We are an active sailing club with many Olympians, excellent member support, and a beautiful atmosphere to teach in.

Looking forward to 2013, we want to continue the longstanding tradition of committed, excellent instructors. RCYC wants Instructors that have demonstrated a strong interest in sailing, children, and their development. If you are enthusiastic, responsible, and creative when it comes to sailing, we want to hear from you!

Coaching positions are available in areas from introductory sailing to competitive racing. Programme offerings span the entire CYA Learn to Sail curriculum in addition to very active Optimist, Laser Radial, 420, and 29er racing divisions.

The RCYC approach to instructing is to provide as much support as we can to each instructor. As an important part of our team, we aim to provide our instructors with the tools they need to make significant and lasting contributions to the experience of each of our participants.

Successful candidates have;

• Currently Instructor Certification or equivalent experience, with a minimum of one year experience instructing

• Current First Aid & CPR (or equivalent) certification

• Current Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card

• Availability to participate in training the week of June 17th to June 21st 2013.
