Start Date: Tuesday, May 15, 2012

• under the direction of the Program Manager, coordinates all aspects of daily “on-water” operations
• Organizes and conducts CYA certified White Sail Courses I, II and III for members and non-members
• as “Safety Officer Afloat” is responsible for safe and enjoyable sailing occasions, including on-time departures and returns, proper instructions and assistance to members and volunteers, rigging boats, ensuring that all equipment is provided and is in good working order, transferring all members with disabilities safely in and out of the boats, enforcing and evaluating all sailing procedures and weather conditions, monitoring radio communications, operates the coach boat and assists with on-water problems. Reports all “Dock and Water “ safety issues to the Program Manager
• maintains all boats and equipment to the highest standards as well as general housekeeping and upkeep of indoor and outdoor facilities. Provides daily maintenance checklist to Program Manager
• Coordinates all plans an activities with regard to Wednesday Night Racing , Round the Island tours and Regattas
• Assist members who are interested in Racing by conducting Racing Clinics

• Excellent social, communications, presentation and organizational skills
• Possesses a CYA Standard Green Instructor or Blue Instructor Learn to Sail Level
• First Aid Certification
• Extensive Keelboat and Pleasure Boat experience;
• Experience in Volunteer Organizations and working with persons with disabilities, lifesaving qualifications, strong mechanical aptitude
• Must available to teach courses in the evenings and weekends.
• Must be college or university student till at least April 2013
