The second CYA RM seminar was held at the Nepean Sailing Club and was attended by 19 persons.
Lead Instructor Rob Williams was assisted by David Searle and Paul Ulibarri.
Nepean proved to be an outstanding venue for the seminar, with an excellent seminar meeting room and strong staff support. The club provided Breakfast and lunch each day and dinner on Saturday evening.
Our appreciation to David Searle who coordinated the seminar and provided accomodations for all who required as well as arranging for early arrivals to sail in the Thursday night race.
As in the initial seminar the emphasis was on student participation via study groups and role playing excercises. Open discussion on all phases of race management was shared by student and instructors alike.
All attendees were certified CRO or higher. The seminar format assumes each student is an experienced race officer and emphasizes the exchange of information and experience rather than intructor lecture.
Our desire is to have the third seminar next winter or early spring. Stay tuned for venue selection announcements.
