Coach/Instructor Manuals Available Online
All CYA coach/instructor manuals will soon be available online in the Member Resources area of the website. If you are a current registered CYA coach/instructor you can now log in to download those manuals currently posted.

Make Ethical Decisions - Online Evaluation
All LTS/R coaches who have completed the CYA Fundamental Course or the NCCP Introduction to Competition - Part A are required to complete the Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation.

Certification/Recertification
The certification period for all LTS/R and LTC/P coach/instructor levels is 36-months to the end of the calendar year. For example if you completed your clinic in May 2003, your level would expire December 31st, 2006.

ATTENTION ALL IEs: Theory tests are still a fundamental part of coach/instructor evaluations. The removal of theory testing from LTS/LTR lessons does not apply to Coach Development Programs (CDP). Please ensure that theory tests are completed and forwarded to your PSA along with the Candidate evaluation forms.

 

Have foreign certification?

There is an equivalency process for cross over certification whereby the instructors must submit proof of certification along with documentation that outlines the curriculum of the sail instructor course that they have completed. All CYA pre-requisites must be up to date.

This information is compared to CYA standards and the instructors are notified of any additional required training (this is where one day attendance at an IDP and NCCP theory comes in). CYA certification is issued upon completion of any additional required training.
